I was reading the tweet from Eckhart Tolle: “Wherever you are, be there totally. If you find your here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it.”

This quote reminded me of the corporate environment. Nothing is roses and blue sky. There are always some challenges, difficulties, struggles that people need to navigate or learn to navigate. No success comes easy and often requires a lot of time, energy, and effort to make it happen. But, at the same time, this is also part of the growth journey.

Unfortunately, so often, people may tend to fall into the trap of complaining, gossiping, or blaming. These approaches are a real trap because it does not help anyone but only contributes to poisoning themselves and others.

Instead, there are three choices. Either you fight for it, challenge the decisions you think will not serve the employees and the corporation. And in the end, make a change, be the change agent and create a better world for those around you.

If the fighting is not worth it, or you conclude that you do not have the control or power to be able to change it, then another choice is to accept it and try to make it work—this time, fight for making it happen.

If you are in a situation where either fighting or accepting that does not work for you, you have a final choice: to leave it and move on with your career elsewhere. On the other hand, make a positive contribution to others elsewhere. This one is also tricky. People may have internal conflicts. On the other hand, they are loyal to their company while also recognizing that things are not working. Also, there is the fear will I be successful elsewhere.

The critical question is, what if you know that you won’t fail; what is possible for you?

Our time is so short in this world and let’s make it worthwhile rather than ruining the quality of our life every day. There are always three choices; either you try to change it, accept it, or leave it.
